Very close for Ascot. Just what we expected for the money. Room small, clean and very quiet. Sheets and blankets (not duvet) which i like. Bathroom clean and plenty of clean fresh towels. Helpful smiley staff. Will return for same time next year hopefully

Itw as very welcoming in the morning. Had a good chance to meet the staff. Was very cosy and homely. Very convenient to go to High St for Dinner in the evening. Very appropriate for visiting Ascot or nearby sightseeing places as a local Hotel. Staff were very friendly. Definitely would visit again with friends for a short stay.

location and price
Highclere has seen better days and is in need of a lick of pain, new carpet, etc. Shabby but safe and quiet and priced accordingly.

The welcome was extremely warm and friendly, the room was exceptionally spacious and exceptionally clean and comfortable. Our daughter virtually had an entire space - akin to another room - to herself though it was all contained within the one large family room we stayed in. The bathroom was modern with fabulous shower and deep bath. And the staff allowed us flexible checkout time - as we were flying out of the uk that evening we were given a very very generous checkout time ... and the owners were also more than happy if our little girl wanted to go play on the trampoline in the back garden. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to be in a quaint little village within walking distance of Ascot Royal Ascot racecourse, and a short drive to Windsor, Windsor Castle and Heathrow airport, and the surrounding gorgeous countryside of Royal Windsor.

Highclere was recently modernised and very comfortable, it has save off road parking. The owners and staff are very pleasant. The breakfast was simple but more than adequate. The location is very quiet but there are enough restaurants locally and Ascot and Windsor were not far.
We stayed for 3 nights and bottled water and biscuits were not renewed in that time. Tea/coffee etc was fine.

Friendly member of staff, convenient location
The hotel has clearly seen better days and is in need of renovation. However with a bit of investment it could be much improved. I was happy with my stay and look forward to seeing it spruced up a bit.
